February 27th, 2009 (01:06 am)

Короче, прислали мне из Штутгарта письмо, просили довести ег до сведения всех заинтересованных;

The 16th Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart and the Robert Bosch Foundation present the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe

After the successful launch of the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film 2008,
the next forum will be held in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Foundation at the ITFS 2009 (05.05.09 – 10.05.09) on Thursday, May 07.

The Robert Bosch Foundation has been supporting coproductions and intercultural exchange between German, Eastern and Southern Eastern European animators for several years. One of its most important contributions is the coproduction award for animated film with a cash prize worth up to 70,000 Euros.

The Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe is an important part of the Foundation’s promotional strategy. It is a platform for young animators and directors from Germany, Eastern and Southern Eastern Europe, who are interested in international coproductions and who wish to apply for the sponsorship prize awarded by the Robert Bosch Foundation.

Animators and directors who want to take part in the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe must apply with an animation project which has not yet been realised. Interested parties should send a two page dossier describing their film project in either German or English. The ITFS also requests initial visuals which illustrate both the style and animation technique of the film as well as a selection of earlier films on DVD.

As the forum is directed at young filmmakers and is intended to support new generations of film artists, applicants must be no older than 35 years of age. The application deadline is March 23, 2009.

The ITFS will choose a selection of projects from those entered which will then be presented to internationally renowned producers and filmmakers in pitching sessions. The forum thus offers participating filmmakers the unique opportunity to contact potential coproduction partners and convince them to get involved. A prominent jury will select one of the pitched projects which will then be automatically nominated for the promotional prize 2010.

Producers, directors, animators and representatives from film institutions from Eastern, Southern Eastern Europe and Germany will provide an insight into the diversity of existing production conditions and speak about their experiences with coproductions.

The filmmakers of the projects selected to be pitched at the forum will be informed until April 09, 2009. They will be invited to the ITFS for the duration of the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe. The invitation includes three nights in the festival hotel (Wednesday, May 05 – Saturday, May 09) and a return flight to Stuttgart.
With more than 1,500 international professional visitors and an audience of 50.000 people the ITFS is one of the biggest events for animation in the world and a unique platform for exchanging experiences and ideas.

Let the Festival programme inspire you, use this opportunity to make important professional contacts and send us your application documents!
